I absolutely love moving.
It’s mostly because it’s a fresh start. It’s such a good opportunity to start new habits and to set new intentions.
Of course, it’s also exhausting. We moved to our new lovely little farmhouse at the very end of 2015 and we’re still not completely unpacked.
However, this sets the stage perfectly for my current endeavor – applying the principles of The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up into my house and my life.
I first read The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up in the fall of 2015. I was chatting with Tee and a friend about my new job and how I was concerned that my lack of organizational skills would be a difficulty in this new position. My friend mentioned this book; he hadn’t read it, but reported that others were raving about it.
I requested it from the library that day. I read it and I loved it! So far, I’ve KonMari’d my clothes and my books. Marie Kondo recommends that you tidy by category; she has a recommended order, but I’m not going to follow it rigidly. I think jewelry might be next.
All this tidying’s really helping me to increase my sense of calm and order. (Outer order promotes inner calm!) More Tidying Updates to come!
