It’s hard to keep things balanced.
For the past few months, my focus has been pretty narrow. It’s not that one particular thing has been dominating my life – rather, it’s as if every few weeks or so, my life has shifted, so that one aspect has taken over. (There was a week that was all about family. There was a week that was all about health. Then a work-dominated week, a professional-development-and-growth week – and for the past two weeks, it’s been all about running!)
Now feels like a good time to be looking ahead to this spring, this summer, and this fall, and to evaluate how I want things to fall into place. I don’t want to over-plan, or to be too obsessive about anything needing to be a certain way. But I do want to live with intention. There are various things that are important to me right now. I want to help Tee with WPF. (More on that soon!) I want to write. I want to do a good job at work. I want to take steps to expand and to grow my professional life. I want to spend time with my family and my friends. I want to take time to nurture my soul and my spirit. I want to have FUN!
I’ve always been inspired by the Annie Dillard quote, “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” Simple and true. I want to spend my life doing the things that are important to me; therefore, I want to spend each and every day doing the things that are important to me.
